Autumn Festival Sunday 15 APR

All’s quiet now but on Sunday things will be rocking.

Preparations for the 2018 Derwent Valley Autumn Festival are underway with stallholders preparing off-site and entertainers no doubt practising their routines ahead of the big day.  Derwent Valley Council is busy preparing the grounds for the influx of visitors on Sunday 15 April.

The council have also advised that there will be changes to traffic flow in the Esplanade precinct and Tynwald Park during the event which will be between 10am and 5pm.

Changes to traffic flow will be:

  • Page Avenue from the Bowling Club to the New Norfolk Swimming Pool will be closed.
  • Montagu Street, Ferry and Page Avenue (behind the Caravan Park) will be open to one-way traffic.  Signage will be erected to ensure everyone knows which way to go.
  • Speed limit down Montagu Crescent will be reduced to 40km/ph.

There will be no vehicle parking availability in the Esplanade precinct so visitors are invited to park at Tynwald Park and catch a shuttle bus to (and from) the festival. If it’s your first visit to New Norfolk consider completing the Derwent Cliffs Walk as an alternative route to the festival site on the Esplanade.
