Customer Reviews Month

March is Customer Review month at New Norfolk Online.

We have added a ‘Reviews’ tab to each business micro-site and we are inviting the local community to submit their comments to help build the reputation of our proud community and provide real recommendations to help people with their buying choices.

Today’s consumers are increasingly relying on reviews to make decisions about the products and services they are thinking about purchasing. Local business owners are aware that positive online reviews are great for their business but perhaps not the extent.

  • 92% of consumers rely on reviews when making a local buying decision.
  • 88% of buyers trust online reviews as much as recommendations from people they know.

Publishing a list of reviews of local businesses is a great way for them to offer 3rd-party proof that their business delivers on expectations. It also shows that customers are not only satisfied but are prepared write about it.

Online reviews are important to local businesses.

Local people are always looking for recommendations and need reassurance when they are searching for products and services online that they will receive good value for their money.

People visiting town will no doubt research antique stores, cafes, retailers and places to stay and are looking for a reason to choose where they take their business so New Norfolk Online are happy to provide that service.

Online feedback provided by real consumers are treated as extremely important by the search engines. Google for instance, ranks businesses based on  customer engagement (in part), and displays their web pages accordingly in local search results.

New Norfolk Online provides business owners and local customers the opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ by submitting genuine reviews and acknowledgements of ‘thanks’. We also recommend this be done in Google My Business as well. It doesn’t take much effort to give a star-rating and add a short sentence of appreciation.

Other benefits of customer reviews.

Business can learn a lot from customer comments regardless of whether they are positive or negative. Positive feedback can be used in various forms of marketing such as testimonials on websites and shares on social media. Complaints, on the other hand can be used to identify and rectify previously-unknown problems and improve service in the future.

How to submit a review on NNO

It’s super simple – just look for the ‘Reviews’ tab on each business listing page, enter your details, click on a star rating, add your message then ‘Submit Review’. If you run a business in town, don’t be surprised to see a reciprocal review on your page very soon after.
