About us

Derwent Valley Arts has been established to enhance Tasmania's Derwent Valley as a place to live by helping the arts to be a vibrant part of the region’s culture and economy. In particular, Derwent Valley Arts aims to:

Work in partnership with artists, arts organisations, government, business and community to:

  • Develop, deliver and promote a program of arts events for the Derwent Valley region.
  • Explore the establishment of a Derwent Valley Arts Centre.
  • Encourage, promote and support arts-based economic activities in the Derwent Valley.

Short term objectives:

  • Work on short term, achievable arts events and projects with a view to exploring arts event opportunities.
  • Build a community of interest.
  • Pilot activities such as exhibitions, film, theatre and performance.

For more information - or if you’re an artist with an upcoming exhibition, performance, or event to promote in the Derwent Valley - please contact us.
