Like all great lookouts, they can be tricky to find but this one is a must-see when you visit New Norfolk. From here you'll see the iconic view of the Derwent River as it bends around New Norfolk.
To get there from the town, cross the Lyell Highway bridge over the river and turn right at the T-intersection onto Rocks Road (Boyer Road). Slow down when you get close to the left-hand turn on to Pulpit Rock Road which crosses the railway line (currently unused). Follow the track (unsealed) up the hill and you'll soon reach the good-sized carpark. It's then an easy walk down to the lookout fenced viewing area.
Tip - don't forget to take your camera or smartphone and be careful when, on your return, you rejoin the main road.
